Kalmar, Sweden – The city of Kalmar is inviting visitors to experience its rich history through its culinary scene. Seven restaurants have been highlighted for their unique settings within historical buildings, offering a chance to combine gastronomic experiences with a sense of the past.
Among the featured establishments is Slottsrestaurangen, situated at the 12th-century Kalmar Castle, focusing on Nordic flavors with local and seasonal ingredients. Källaren Kronan operates within the vaults of two of Kvarnholmen's oldest buildings, dating back to the 1660s, while Rosenlundska Källaren is housed in Kalmar's oldest stone building from the 1650s.
Further selections include Västerport Bar & Bistro, located within the 17th-century city wall, and FF:s bar och ett litet kök, also housed inside the historic rampart. Restaurant Statt Verandan, part of the 200-year-old Calmar Stadshotell, offers views of Kalmar Cathedral.
