Kalmar has introduced the T2i terminal tractor, an upgraded model designed for industrial sites, ports, and distribution hubs. Production for the new unit has commenced at the company's Shanghai facility, targeting customers across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and Latin American regions.

The T2i utilizes a modular platform, allowing operators to choose between three lift capacities (28, 32, or 36 tonnes) and three distinct wheelbases. The engine configuration can also be specified to meet either Stage 3A or Stage V emission standards, depending on regional requirements.

Design improvements focus on durability and operator conditions, featuring a reinforced chassis and a redesigned ROPS/FOPS certified cabin. The operator workspace now includes a panoramic windscreen to improve visibility and acoustic dampening to reduce internal noise levels to 75 dB(A). Thor Brenden, President of Terminal Tractors at Kalmar, stated that the update reflects the company's commitment to adapting its equipment to meet evolving operational needs.
