Kalmar Launches New Generation of RTG Cranes
Kalmar has introduced a new generation of its rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs). The new models offer enhanced productivity and eco-efficiency for container terminals.
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has launched a new generation of its rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs). The new range includes five models, featuring a stronger, lighter, and simpler modular design with intelligent features aimed at boosting productivity and eco-efficiency in container handling.
The new Kalmar RTGs are optimized for high performance with eco-efficiency, and are designed to be safer and easier to operate. Operator improvements include new anti-sway technology, an enhanced cabin design for better visibility, and a redesigned crane management system (CMS) that also simplifies maintenance through improved alarm handling. Service access has been improved with new platforms and relocated machinery.
All new-generation RTGs are connected to the Kalmar Cloud, enabling remote monitoring and support from Kalmar's service team. The company states that energy efficiency has been further optimized through reduced weight and smart choices in power systems, engines, and component sizing.
