The Kalmar County Museum features an extensive exhibition on the man-of-war Kronan, the most magnificent ship of the 17th-century Swedish Empire. Salvaged items from the wreck, including Sweden's largest treasure of minted gold, offer insights into life at sea and the society of the era. The museum also hosts an exhibition dedicated to the artist Jenny Nyström, born in Kalmar in 1854. The display explores her life and prolific career, known for her iconic Christmas motifs and a broader artistic output.
