Kalmar receives cybersecurity certification for MyKalmar INSIGHT

Kalmar has achieved the IEC 62443-4-1 cybersecurity certification for its Connected Solutions Secure Development Lifecycle Process. This certification encompasses the MyKalmar INSIGHT performance management tool for material handling operations, the Kalmar cloud, and associated gateways.

The certification follows the 2023 certification of the Kalmar One automation system, which established Kalmar as the first solution provider in the ports and terminals industry to receive this accreditation for the software development of its automation system across all terminal equipment.

The IEC 62443-4-1 standard outlines process requirements for the secure development lifecycle (SDL) of products intended for industrial automation and control systems (IACS). Achieving this certification underscores Kalmar's commitment to integrating cybersecurity throughout its software and product development, aiming to protect customer businesses in an increasingly connected digital landscape.

Mette Hammer, Director of Digital Solutions at Kalmar, stated that the certification validates the company's dedication to embedding cybersecurity from the outset of development. She also noted alignment with new EU regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and Machinery Regulation.
