Helsinki – Kalmar has secured a new service agreement with Total Terminal International Algeciras S.A. (TTI Algeciras) in Spain. The contract covers the preventive and corrective maintenance of 8 Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes and 32 Automated Stacking Cranes (ASC) operated by the terminal.

The deal, booked in Kalmar's third-quarter 2026 order intake, highlights the ongoing need for specialized maintenance services in the global port logistics sector. TTI Algeciras is a key terminal in the Port of Algeciras Bay, recognized as Southern Europe's first semi-automated terminal.

Currently undergoing a significant expansion project set to increase its handling capacity to 2.1 million TEUs by 2028, TTI Algeciras is strategically positioned at the Strait of Gibraltar. The terminal handles current and next-generation Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs).

Reliable equipment maintenance is critical for terminal operations, especially as TTI Algeciras expands its capacity and continues to service large vessels. This agreement deepens the existing partnership between Kalmar and TTI Algeciras, supporting the terminal's operational efficiency and uptime.
