Kalmar to Supply Contargo Group with First Fully Electric Reachstacker and Service Contract

Kalmar has secured an order for a fully electric reachstacker from Contargo Group in Germany, with delivery anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2026. The deal also includes a seven-year Kalmar Complete Care service contract to ensure maximum uptime and reliability through comprehensive technical support and maintenance.

The new electric reachstacker will augment Contargo's existing fleet of Kalmar equipment at its Neuss terminal, Germany. It will be utilized for standard cargo handling operations, supporting the site's ongoing development and growth while maintaining safe and efficient terminal operations.

Contargo Group has demonstrated a commitment to electrification with the installation of eight charging points and an energy management system at the Neuss terminal. The terminal sources its energy not only from the grid but also through energy recovery from cranes and photovoltaic systems. Battery storage systems are in place to prevent peak loads and manage surplus energy.
