Kalmar to supply equipment for new DP World terminal in Ecuador
Kalmar, a division of Cargotec, will provide a fleet of 40 machines to support operations at DP World's deep-water port project in Posorja.

Kalmar has secured a contract to supply terminal equipment to DP World's new deep-water port in Posorja, Ecuador. The order comprises 33 terminal tractors, three empty container handlers, three reachstackers, and one forklift. This infrastructure is intended to support the facility as it begins operations.
The equipment will feature integration with Kalmar Insight, a management tool designed to track performance data. By aggregating information from the terminal’s operating system and maintenance logs, the tool aims to provide management with real-time productivity metrics.
Posorja is currently in its initial development phase, which includes the construction of a 480-meter berth with a targeted annual capacity of 750,000 TEU. The order was booked in Cargotec’s fourth quarter of 2018, with deliveries scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2019.
