Kalmar to supply Messina Line with RoRo forklifts
Kalmar will supply seven new Kalmar DCE330-RoRo units to Italian shipping firm Messina Line for its Genoa terminal operations. The forklifts are customized to handle containers and heavy break bulk.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order for seven new Kalmar DCE330-RoRo units from Italian shipping firm Messina Line. The delivery is part of Messina Line's fleet expansion to prepare for larger vessels docking at its Genoa, Italy terminal.
The forklifts are designed for efficient handling of containers and heavy break bulk, both onboard vessels and in terminal yards. The specific requirements for the forklifts included a mast height of less than 5350mm to fit within the RORO holds of the new ships, while maintaining a 33-tonne lifting capacity. Kalmar has equipped the machines with an extra-low triplex free lift mast to meet these specifications.
Delivery of the units is scheduled for the second quarter of the year. Messina Line, founded in 1921, operates services across the Mediterranean, Africa, and the Middle East. The company is a significant roll-on roll-off container operator.
