Swedish state-owned gaming operator Svenska Spel has appointed Katarina Borstedt as its new Chief People & Culture Officer, effective September 2026. Borstedt brings extensive experience in senior HR roles from companies including Munters FoodTech, Northvolt, and Proxify, along with a consulting background from PwC and Deloitte.

In her new capacity, Borstedt will join the Group Management board and report directly to the CEO. Her responsibilities will center on driving organizational development, leadership enhancement, and supporting Svenska Spel's strategy for sustainable growth.

Anna Johnson, President and CEO of Svenska Spel, stated that Borstedt's expertise in leading HR and organizational issues during periods of change and growth will be crucial. She will play a key role in strengthening and developing the organization, its leadership, and working methods.

Borstedt expressed her enthusiasm for the appointment, highlighting her intention to contribute with her experience in developing organizations and leadership through growth and change. She emphasized that HR's role is to create conditions for employees and leaders to develop, with the customer and business as a clear starting point. Joakim Karlsson will return to his permanent role as Head of Talent Acquisition & Tech following Borstedt's arrival.
