KBR awarded $200M NASA contract for launch range operations
KBR, Inc. has been awarded a $200 million contract by NASA to provide launch range operations support. The work will take place at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
KBR, Inc. has secured a $200 million contract from NASA to support launch range operations at the agency's Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Virginia.
The five-year contract requires KBR to perform a range of services, including radar, telemetry, logistics, tracking, and communications for flight vehicles. These operations will support orbital and suborbital rockets, aircraft, satellites, balloons, and unmanned aerial systems.
KBR will also be responsible for testing, modifying, and installing communication and electronic systems. Additionally, the company will operate ground, spacecraft, and launch vehicle processing systems at launch facilities, control centers, and test facilities. Information technology and range technology sustainment engineering services are also included.
The contract performance period is set to begin in August 2019 and conclude in August 2024. Work will be conducted at Wallops Island, as well as other locations domestically and internationally. KBR has a history of providing mission-critical support for space endeavors.
