KBR to provide technology and engineering services for EET Hydrogen's blue hydrogen facility.

KBR announced it has been awarded a contract by EET Hydrogen for blue hydrogen process technology and front-end engineering design (FEED). The agreement covers EET Hydrogen's planned HPP2 facility, which is part of the HyNet initiative. HyNet is described as the UK's leading industrial decarbonization project, located at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex.

Under the terms of the contract, KBR will supply technology licensing, proprietary engineering design and equipment, catalysts, and FEED for a plant with a capacity of up to 1000 MW. This project is a significant component of the UK's energy transition, aiming to reduce emissions from hard-to-abate industrial sectors through carbon capture and storage (CCS).

"We are excited to support EET Hydrogen on this significant decarbonization project. KBR will apply its proprietary hydrogen knowledge and technology to deliver the UK's largest blue hydrogen energy transition project," said Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions. He added that the contract underscores the company's commitment to assisting clients with both their ESG and business objectives.

KBR has a history as a leader in engineering design, process technology development, and plant commercialization. The company's expertise in hydrogen technologies positions it to support the industry's growth and transition towards low-carbon solutions.
