KBR, Inc. announced it has been awarded a contract by Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and SABIC. The agreement designates KBR as a Project Management Contractor (PMC) responsible for Pre-Front End Engineering Design (Pre-FEED) and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) services for the development of the world's largest fully integrated Crude Oil to Chemicals (COTC) complex.

The project, situated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will leverage advanced refining technologies and innovative process configurations to create a fully integrated petrochemical complex. This aims to maximize chemical production and diversify the Kingdom's petrochemical feedstock mix. The facility is expected to be operational by 2025.

Saudi Arabia's objective with this project is to diversify its economy beyond crude oil exports by integrating oil refining directly with the production of higher-value chemical products. KBR's role will involve program management services to ensure the efficient execution of the project.

The development work will be managed across KBR's offices in Houston, Al-Khobar, and Chennai. This project represents a significant endeavor for Saudi Arabia in its strategy to maximize the value derived from its natural resources and enhance its standing in the global chemicals sector.
