KBR, Inc. has been appointed as a member of the Linewide Alliance, securing a contract for the linewide works on the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East project. This major infrastructure initiative in Australia aims to reshape transportation and urban living in Melbourne.

SRL East represents the initial phase of a 90km orbital rail line. It will involve the construction of 26km of twin underground tunnels and six new stations connecting Cheltenham and Box Hill. The project is projected to support the development of 70,000 new homes, positioning them close to public transport, employment, and essential services.

The Linewide Alliance, which includes partners John Holland, Alstom, RATP DEC, and WSP, will be responsible for outfitting the tunnels, providing rolling stock, and constructing depot and maintenance facilities. These components are essential for the safe, efficient operation, and long-term performance of the SRL East section.

KBR, alongside WSP serving as the Designer Non-Owner Participant, is leading comprehensive design efforts for this critical package of work.
