Technology company KBR, Inc. has officially finalized the acquisition of U.S.-based Wyle Inc., a deal that commenced in July 2016. Following the transaction, Wyle Inc., which specializes in engineering, professional, scientific, and technical services primarily for the U.S. federal government, is being rebranded as KBRwyle.

The new KBRwyle division is part of KBR's broader business improvement strategy initiated in December 2014. The objective is to expand KBR's market presence, particularly within the U.S. government services sector, where Wyle Inc. holds a significant position.

KBR President and CEO Stuart Bradie emphasized the mutual benefits of the merger. "KBRwyle, combined with our existing Government Services offerings, provides us with broader and more differentiated offerings for a growing market," Bradie stated. He further noted that the expanded capabilities are expected to create synergies between the businesses, specifically in project and program management skills.

The company anticipates that KBRwyle will unlock substantial business opportunities moving forward. While KBR's primary market is international, KBRwyle will focus predominantly on the U.S. market, minimizing overlap and allowing for specialization.
