KBR secures project management contract for Angola fertilizer plant
KBR has been contracted by AMUFERT to oversee the development of a $2 billion fertilizer production facility in Soyo, Angola.

KBR has been appointed as the project management consultant for the construction of a new fertilizer manufacturing plant in Soyo, Angola. The scope of the contract includes oversight of engineering, procurement, and construction activities for the project, which is valued at approximately $2 billion.
The facility is engineered to produce 2,300 metric tons of ammonia and 4,000 metric tons of urea daily. Once operational, the plant aims to address domestic agricultural needs and increase regional fertilizer capacity.
This agreement builds upon KBR’s existing involvement in the venture, where the firm had previously provided technology licensing and proprietary engineering services. Jay Ibrahim, President of Sustainable Technology Solutions, noted that the contract formalizes KBR's continued role in the facility's development lifecycle.
