KBR, Inc. has secured a contract to provide its PureMSM green methanol technology to Fikrat Al-Tadweer for Saudi Arabia's first biomethanol plant. The project aims to transform landfill gas into a clean fuel source, marking a significant environmental initiative for the region.

The facility will be the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia, leveraging KBR's advanced technological solutions for renewable fuel production. The PureMSM solution is designed for commercial-scale deployment and focuses on cost-effective production of renewable methanol. Under the agreement, KBR will supply technology licensing, proprietary engineering design, catalysts, and equipment for the plant.

A key advantage of KBR's technology is its versatility in utilizing various feedstocks. This includes biogas, syngas derived from gasification, hydrogen, and pure carbon dioxide, enhancing operational efficiency and adaptability to different raw material sources.

This development aligns with global efforts to transition to lower-emission energy sources. KBR's involvement in this pioneering project in Saudi Arabia underscores its role in advancing clean energy technologies and supporting the growth of renewable fuels in the Middle East.
