KBR to Supply Green Ammonia Technology for Indian Project

HOUSTON – KBR announced on July 1, 2024, that its K-GreeN® technology has been chosen for OCIOR Energy's new plant in the Odisha region of India. This marks KBR's tenth licensed green ammonia facility worldwide and its first in India.

Under the contract terms, KBR will supply OCIOR with a technology license, proprietary engineering design, equipment, and catalyst solutions for a green ammonia plant with a daily capacity of 600 metric tons. The agreement also aims to optimize the levelized cost of ammonia production.

The project is expected to support the region's decarbonization goals by utilizing KBR's zero-carbon technology. The company has been involved in the development of the green energy value chain, and this contract underscores its commitment to assisting clients in achieving net-zero targets.

OCIOR Energy stated that the project aims to set a benchmark for the reliable production of green fuels. The company expressed confidence in KBR's expertise to ensure the project's success. OCIOR's strategy involves developing well-engineered green ammonia projects in regions rich with renewable resources.
