KBR to Sustain Australian Defence Force Satellite Communications
KBR has been selected as an industry partner to sustain the Australian Defence Force's satellite communication monitoring and control systems. The contract aims to enhance communication reliability and security.

KBR, Inc. announced it will provide sustainment services to enhance the Australian Defence Force's satellite communication capabilities, making them more modern and resilient. The company will serve as an industry partner for the Aggregated Monitoring and Control (AM&C) of Satellite Earth Stations.
The program will be supported by Australian small and medium-sized enterprise Blacktree Technologies and US-based Kratos Defence and Security Solutions. This partnership extends KBR's role in providing critical communication infrastructure for defense clients.
KBR's subsidiary, Clearbox Systems Pty Ltd, has already successfully designed and implemented a remote, centralized monitoring and control system for Earth stations across Australia. Clearbox's ongoing responsibilities include the remote operation and aggregation of SATCOM ground and space assets both domestically and internationally.
This contract complements KBR's existing MINERVA contract, which is equipping the Royal Australian Navy with an updated Fleet Information Environment. The company stated the new agreement will deliver more efficient, secure, and capable communications for the Defence Force, leveraging Clearbox's expertise and KBR's deployed ICT skills.
