KeepTool releases updates for Oracle database tools
KeepTool has issued updates for its Oracle database management tools, introducing feature enhancements and compatibility improvements.

KeepTool, a developer of database management software, has released several updates to its suite of tools designed for Oracle databases. The released versions, spanning from late 2011 to early 2014, focus on enhancing functionality and ensuring compatibility with evolving operating systems and Oracle database versions.
Key updates have included improved compatibility with Oracle 11.2.0 and Oracle 12c, alongside support for Windows 8. The company has also addressed system-level issues, such as a Microsoft Security Advisory (2896666) related to GDI+ errors on older Windows versions.
Technical enhancements in recent updates include performance improvements for session and SGA SQL area pages, and expanded capabilities for the "Create table from import source" command to process CSV files in addition to Excel and Access formats. Unusable indexes are now visibly highlighted, and users are prompted to commit or roll back transactions upon exiting the application.
KeepTool has also integrated direct access to Oracle's Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) via a new button on the database page. This feature provides users with insights into database performance, though its use is contingent on having the Oracle Enterprise Manager Diagnostic Pack licensed.
Further refinements across the versions involve better user interface elements, such as an enhanced file search dialog for SQL scratchpads and clearer visualization of tablespace fragmentation, aiming to streamline database management tasks for users.
