Kenya Opens Applications for Cleantech Innovation Competition

Applications are now open for the Cleantech Innovation Competition in Kenya, offering university and TVET students a platform to develop and showcase innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

The competition is a joint initiative by the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC), the Embassy of Switzerland in Kenya, SICPA, and partner institutions. It aims to support early-stage cleantech ideas and technologies that can address local environmental issues and contribute to Kenya's green economy.

Selected participants will gain access to accelerator support for business development, funding opportunities, skills training, mentorship from industry experts, and networking with peers and partners. They will also have opportunities to present their cleantech solutions.

The competition is open to university and TVET students in Kenya with ideas or early-stage solutions focusing on renewable energy, energy efficiency, water and sanitation, agriculture, waste management, commercial forestry, and climate and environmental sustainability. Applications close on August 10.
