Kepler Aerospace Raises $8 Mn For Satellite Surveillance Launch
Spacetech startup Kepler Aerospace has secured $8 million in seed funding to develop and launch six autonomous surveillance satellites. The capital will support the deployment of its space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.

Bengaluru-based spacetech firm Kepler Aerospace has raised $8 million (approximately ₹75.8 Cr) in a seed funding round led by Blue Ashva Capital, with participation from Finvolve and India Accelerator. This marks the company's first external funding since its founding in 2018.
The new capital will be allocated to developing and deploying Kepler's space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. The company also plans to expand its mission operations and avionics-as-a-service businesses.
A significant portion of the funding is earmarked for launching six autonomous, swarming ISR satellites. These satellites are part of two contracts secured for India's defense space ecosystem, with the projects also receiving approximately $4 million in grants under the iDEX program.
Kepler's planned satellites are designed to communicate, assign tasks, and coordinate with each other in orbit without requiring constant ground station commands. The startup aims to reduce the time for converting space-based data into actionable intelligence from months to minutes. India's private spacetech sector is expanding, and Kepler is positioning itself to capitalize on this growth.
