Kerby Jean-Raymond and Kering Launch 'Your Friends In New York' Platform

Designer Kerby Jean-Raymond and luxury conglomerate Kering have announced the creation of 'Your Friends In New York' (YFINY), a new platform designed to foster and support emerging creative talent. The initiative aims to create an ecosystem by combining fashion, music, art, philanthropy, and wellness, seeking to redefine how consumers discover and engage with brands.

According to the announcement, YFINY will operate through multiple divisions, including an events and experiences arm, an incubator program for innovators, philanthropic initiatives, and a merchandise label. Kering will serve as a partner, providing support to empower new artistic talents and encourage creative diversity.

The concept for 'Your Friends In New York' originated from a meeting between Jean-Raymond and Kering Chairman and CEO François-Henri Pinault in 2019. The platform's initial launch, planned for March 2020, was postponed due to the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jean-Raymond has stated his commitment to creating future-forward ventures that involve the community and assist others in growing within the fashion and art sectors. Pinault expressed admiration for Jean-Raymond's unique approach to creativity and business, highlighting his desire to establish a new model independent of traditional fashion industry constraints.

YFINY has already demonstrated its community focus by supporting marginalized communities impacted by the pandemic through Jean-Raymond's personal donation and Kering's financial contribution. Future plans include addressing pressing community issues, such as providing mental health services for children and residents of public housing.
