Kering Collaborates with Artist Peng Wei for Chinese New Year Celebration

Kering, the global luxury group, is celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year with a collaborative art project featuring contemporary Chinese ink wash artist Peng Wei. The initiative, timed for the new year on January 22nd, merges traditional aesthetics with modern elements.

Peng Wei, recognized for her ink creations, has developed an interactive painting and animation piece titled That Year. This work is inspired by her series Letters from a Distance and depicts a harmonious natural landscape. The artwork features elements such as waterfalls, a rabbit, sika deer, birds, and horses, culminating with a couple setting off fireworks, symbolizing prosperity and ecological awareness for the year ahead.

The collaboration underscores Kering's commitment to fostering creativity and celebrating local narratives. It also aligns with the company's Women In Motion program, which supports women in the arts. Furthermore, the project highlights Kering's long-standing strategy of integrating environmental responsibility and biodiversity conservation into its business practices.

Peng Wei's artwork will be presented through various formats, including Chinese New Year greeting cards, animations, digital displays, and an interactive WeChat game. Kering aims to deepen its connection with Chinese consumers by sharing its vision of symbiotic harmony between humanity and nature during the festive season.
