Kering launches academy and network for educational partnerships

Luxury group Kering has launched the Kering Academy for Excellence, initiating a program aimed at training future professionals to preserve and innovate the artisanal heritage of the luxury sector.

The signing of initial Memorandums of Understanding with eight local educational institutions took place Tuesday at the Campus Valore Italia – MIND Milano Innovation District. These partnerships form a widespread network designed to enhance and project craft excellence into the future. Participating institutions include ACOF, AFOL, CAPAC, Galdus, HModa, ITS Cosmo, Istituto Modartech, and SCHOLA.

The Academy's curriculum redefines training by combining the sector's traditional pillars—apparel, men's tailoring, leather goods, and jewelry—with the development of cutting-edge skills in technology, artificial intelligence, and new materials. The objective is to transform classic crafts into dynamic professions oriented towards the future.

The initiative is complemented by a Think Tank composed of leading figures from the cultural and luxury sectors, tasked with steering the Academy's strategic development. Notable members include Sabina Belli (Head of Kering Academy for Excellence and CEO of Pomellato), Alba Cappellieri (Head of Jewellery & Accessory Design at Politecnico di Milano), and Angelo Crespi (General Director of Pinacoteca di Brera).

Kering aims to create an ecosystem that connects the group's internal training centers with external institutions, fostering knowledge exchange and cultivating a new generation of skilled professionals for its Maisons.
