Global luxury group Kering has announced the launch of Kering CRAFT, a Creative Residency for Artisanship, Fashion and Technology, in collaboration with Shanghai Fashion Week. The initiative aims to foster dialogue and exchange between China and Europe in design, craftsmanship, and innovation.
The program is designed to identify and accelerate the next generation of Chinese creative talent. Selected designers will participate in a cross-continental residency spanning Milan, Paris, and Shanghai, curated by Kering. This experience will focus on combining artisanal skills with design and business insights.
"China is one of the world’s most dynamic innovation hubs," said Kering CEO Luca de Meo. "As we partner with Shanghai Fashion Week in this initiative, we are honored to play an active role in fostering international exchange."
Ji Shengjun, Director of the Shanghai Fashion Week Organizing Committee, stated their pride in collaborating with Kering to nurture emerging talent and build a platform that empowers local designers to engage globally.
Kering CRAFT seeks to empower Chinese designers to develop strong brand and business capabilities, fostering the emergence of "glocal" brands with global scaling potential. The initiative also aims to amplify the global influence of Shanghai Fashion Week by investing in talent and innovation.
