Kering Names Finalists for Inaugural Jewelry Design Sustainability Award

Kering, the global luxury group, has revealed the four finalists for the inaugural Kering Generation Awards X Jewelry competition. This initiative, a collaboration with CIBJO (the World Jewellery Confederation) and with scientific coordination by Poli.Design at Politecnico di Milano, aims to foster innovation and sustainability within the jewelry industry.

The competition challenged students and startups to design jewelry or collections inspired by the theme "Second Chance, First Choice," focusing on reimagining waste materials. Two finalists were selected from the student category and two from the startup category. These finalists presented their projects to the jury on June 7, 2025, during the JCK Las Vegas Show.

The awards encourage young designers and entrepreneurs to view discarded materials as valuable resources, transforming them into desirable and meaningful pieces. This approach challenges conventional perceptions of waste and highlights the creative and sustainable potential of reuse. The initiative supports Kering's broader commitment to responsible innovation and sustainability across its jewelry Maisons, including Boucheron, Pomellato, DoDo, and Qeelin.

Kering has a history of supporting sustainability initiatives. Since 2017, it has participated in accelerators to identify innovative materials and processes. The Kering Generation Award itself was first launched in 2018 to support Chinese startups with positive environmental and social impact, and has since expanded to other regions.
