Kering Opens Paris Headquarters for European Heritage Days

Kering is opening its historic headquarters at 40, rue de Sèvres in Paris to the public on September 21 and 22, coinciding with European Heritage Days. The former Laennec hospital site will host two new exhibitions.

The first exhibition, titled "In Praise of Space," presents works from the Pinault Collection within the 17th-century Laennec chapel. Featured artists include Nairy Baghramian, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Trisha Donnelly, Anne Imhof, Mario Merz, and Danh Vo. Their works explore abstraction and figuration, engaging with the unique spatial qualities of the chapel.

The second exhibition, "The subtleties of a dialogue," is curated by Maison Balenciaga. It showcases a selection of creations by Cristóbal Balenciaga, juxtaposed with pieces by the house's current artistic director, Demna. This display highlights the subtle details and technical mastery that define Balenciaga's aesthetic, fostering a dialogue between past and present.

Kering, a luxury group, has utilized the historic site, which underwent significant rehabilitation since 2000, for its headquarters since 2016. The company has actively participated in restoring the building, respecting its architectural heritage. This year's European Heritage Days theme is "Sustainable Heritage," and Kering aims to raise awareness about the history of the location and the importance of preserving heritage.

Extended hours will be offered on Saturday, September 21, with the venue open until 11 p.m. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both days.
