Kering, Plug and Play, and Fashion for Good Select 12 Sustainable Innovation Startups
Kering, in collaboration with Plug and Play and Fashion for Good, has announced the selection of 12 startups for an innovation accelerator program. The program aims to support sustainable advancements in the fashion and apparel industries.
Luxury group Kering, alongside partners Plug and Play and Fashion for Good, has identified 12 startup companies to participate in their joint innovation accelerator. This initiative is designed to fast-track sustainable innovations within the luxury and apparel sectors.
The selected startups, chosen from over 250 applicants globally, represent diverse fields and backgrounds. Their innovations span areas such as developing new raw materials to reduce environmental impact, alternative production methods to increase garment longevity, and processes for enabling closed-loop product lifecycles.
Over a three-month period, the accelerator program will provide the startups with mentoring, training, and networking opportunities. The collaboration aims to help these companies scale their innovations and integrate them into the broader industry.
Marie-Claire Daveu, Kering's Chief Sustainability Officer, highlighted innovation as key to sustainable progress, noting the impressive ingenuity of the selected startups. Kering anticipates close collaboration to bring these solutions to operational practicality and the scale required for widespread adoption, driving necessary change within the fashion industry.
