Kering renovates Boucheron's iconic address at 26 Place Vendôme
Kering has commenced the renovation of 26 Place Vendôme in Paris, the iconic address of its high jewelry house Boucheron. The project aims to restore and highlight the building's original architectural features.
Kering, the luxury group, has begun renovation work on 26 Place Vendôme in Paris, the historic Parisian mansion serving as the flagship address for its jewelry brand Boucheron. Boucheron has occupied the building, known for its association with high jewelry, since 1893. Kering has filed for the necessary building permits from Paris City Hall.
The renovation project will be led by Michel Goutal, Chief Architect for Historical Monuments. The objective is to enhance the building's original architecture and volumes, respecting its status as a partially listed historical monument. The work will adhere to current environmental standards, aligning with Kering's broader sustainability commitments.
Place Vendôme is a historic center for high jewelry, and Boucheron was the first contemporary jeweler to establish a boutique there. The building's unique position, referred to by neighbors as the 'mansion of light', has been integral to the brand's identity.
This initiative is part of Kering's strategy to preserve and revitalize historic Parisian properties. Similar projects include the conversion of the former Laennec Hospital into the headquarters for Kering and Balenciaga, and the Penthémont Abbey complex into the new head office for Yves Saint Laurent.
