Kering Sets First Global Science-Based Targets for Nature

Kering, the luxury conglomerate managing brands like Gucci and Saint Laurent, announced on October 30th its adoption of the first global, science-based targets for nature. These targets, focused on land and freshwater, complement the group's existing biodiversity initiatives.

The company is the first globally across all sectors to set both land and freshwater targets for nature, following its participation in a year-long pilot program with the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN).

The freshwater target specifically addresses the Arno River basin in Tuscany, a key area for the group's tanneries and suppliers. Land targets include commitments to prevent the conversion of natural ecosystems, reduce land footprint, and engage in landscape initiatives.

Kering manages a portfolio of luxury houses and emphasizes integrating creativity with sustainable and responsible practices. In 2023, the group reported over 49,000 employees and revenues of €19.6 billion.
