Kering-supported Photo Prize Awarded to Evangelia Kranioti

Greek photographer Evangelia Kranioti has received the 4th Prix de la Photo Madame Figaro Arles for her work "The living, the dead, and those who are at sea". The prize, supported by luxury group Kering via its Women In Motion program, recognizes women's contributions to art and culture.

Kranioti's project utilizes photography and film to explore themes of exile, transit, immobility, destiny, death, gender, and transformation. The jury, chaired by actress Sandrine Kiberlain, lauded Kranioti's "dreamlike photographs" and their "empathetic" portrayal of individuals on the margins of society.

The award includes a €10,000 grant to support the creation of a new work. Kering has partnered with the event since 2016 as part of its broader commitment to advancing women's roles in the arts and culture sector.

Launched in 2015 to highlight women in cinema, Kering's Women In Motion initiative has expanded to encompass photography, art, and literature. The program aims to spotlight and support emerging female talents and established artists, while fostering dialogue on women's representation across creative fields.
