Kesko Acquires Dahl in Northern Europe to Expand Technical Trade

Helsinki – Finnish retail giant Kesko announced its agreement to purchase the technical trade operations of Dahl in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark from the French company Saint-Gobain. This transaction represents a major step in Kesko's strategy to grow its technical trade segment.

The debt-free purchase price is set at €1,200 million, excluding lease commitments, bringing the total to €1,518 million with leases included. The acquired businesses generated combined net sales of nearly €2.1 billion in 2025. This move is expected to strengthen Kesko's position in the HPAC (heating, plumbing, and air conditioning) and infrastructure construction supply sectors.

Kesko's President and CEO, Jorma Rauhala, stated that the acquisition aligns with the company's growth strategy and would complement its existing building and technical trade activities. "This is the right timing for an acquisition: technical trade offers significant growth potential in the stable and affluent Nordic markets," Rauhala said.

The deal is subject to approval from competition authorities. If completed, this acquisition would make building and technical trade Kesko's largest division, reinforcing its strategy to increase international presence and profitability.
