Kesko Acquires Dahl's Operations for Nordic Expansion

Finnish retail conglomerate Kesko has announced a significant acquisition to expand its operations across the Nordic region. The company has agreed to acquire the operations of Dahl, a leading Nordic technical trade operator, in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

The transaction is valued at €1,200 million on a debt-free basis, making it Kesko's largest ever. The acquired companies reported a combined net sales of nearly €2.1 billion in 2025. This strategic move is expected to enhance Kesko's presence and capabilities within the HPAC (heating, plumbing, and air conditioning) and infrastructure construction sectors in the targeted countries.

Completion of the acquisition is contingent upon approval from competition authorities and is anticipated by the beginning of 2027. Kesko is scheduled to release its 2026 half-year financial report on July 22, with a teleconference for investors and analysts to follow, where a recap of Q2 events will be discussed.

Recent updates from Kesko also include developments in its shareholdings and sales performance for April and May. The company's grocery trade segment has seen continued market share growth. Furthermore, Kesko has received recognition for its sustainability efforts, being included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices.
