HELSINKI – Finnish retail group Kesko announced a significant acquisition during the second quarter of 2026, expanding its technical trade business into Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. The acquired companies operate in the technical wholesale trade sector and reported combined net sales of nearly €2.1 billion in 2025.

This transaction, the largest in Kesko's history, has a debt-free purchase price of €1,200 million (or €1,518 million including lease commitments). The move is set to strengthen Kesko's presence in the HVAC and infrastructure construction markets in these Nordic countries. The acquisition is subject to approval from competition authorities and is expected to be completed by early 2027.

During the same quarter, Kesko also highlighted continued growth in its grocery trade segment. K Group grocery stores reportedly gained market share every month from October 2025 to March 2026 due to strategic investments in quality, pricing, and store network development, without impacting profitability.

Furthermore, Kesko reported positive sales developments throughout April and May. The company's sustainability efforts were recognized as it was included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World and Europe sustainability indices, ranking among the top five companies in its industry globally.

Kesko is scheduled to release its half-year financial report for 2026 on July 22. An English-language audiocast for investors and analysts will follow at 9:00 AM Finnish time.
