Kesko acquires Dahl's technical trade operations in the Nordics

Helsinki – Finnish retail group Kesko has agreed to acquire the operations of Dahl, a leading Nordic technical trade operator, in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. The transaction is set to significantly bolster Kesko's position in the Nordic technical trade market.

Specific financial details of the acquisition, such as the operating profit of the acquired companies, have not been disclosed. However, Kesko has indicated that all three target companies are profitable, with the Swedish entity being the largest. The companies are considered a strong strategic fit for Kesko’s growth objectives in the technical trade sector.

Kesko plans to finance the deal partly through an equity issue estimated at approximately €500–700 million. Further details regarding the execution and timing of this share issuance will be determined later, considering market conditions and other factors. The company has not provided immediate earnings-per-share guidance but anticipates a positive long-term impact.

Dahl operates nearly 190 stores across the Nordic region, primarily in Sweden. The company's business model relies heavily on automated central warehouses and digital sales, which constitute about 35% of its revenue. Kesko expects the acquisition to support its dividend policy, which targets distributing 60–100% of comparable earnings per share.
