Kesko completes acquisition of Danish merchant CF Petersen & Søn
Kesko has finalized the acquisition of Danish building supply firm CF Petersen & Søn A/S, marking another step in its expansion into the Danish market.

Finnish retail and wholesale conglomerate Kesko has completed its purchase of CF Petersen & Søn A/S, a Danish builders' merchant. The acquisition is executed through Kesko's subsidiary, Davidsen, and aims to strengthen the group's market footprint in the Copenhagen and Zealand regions. Following the acquisition, the CF Petersen & Søn brand will be rebranded as Davidsen.
CF Petersen & Søn operates five outlets in Denmark and employs approximately 210 staff. In 2024, the company generated net sales of roughly €109 million. While the financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, the firm will be consolidated into Kesko’s financial results starting May 1, 2025.
Kesko CEO Jorma Rauhala stated that the move allows the group to better capitalize on the recovery of the Danish construction sector. This transaction is the second of three planned acquisitions in Denmark as part of Kesko's broader strategy to establish a nationwide presence. The final acquisition, Tømmergaarden A/S, is scheduled to conclude on May 30, 2025.
