Kesko Opens New Logistics Center to Boost Onninen Operations
Retail group Kesko has opened a large new logistics center in Vantaa for its technical wholesale Onninen and K-Auto spare parts. The investment aims to enhance delivery capacity and support growth.

Helsinki – Retail group Kesko has completed a significant logistics investment with the opening of the Onnela logistics center in Hyvinkää, Finland. The new facility will serve Onninen's technical trade and K-Auto's spare parts logistics, commencing operations in the first quarter of 2026. The investment, valued at under €300 million, is intended to improve Kesko's delivery capabilities and support its growth and competitiveness in the Northern European retail sector.
The Onnela facility in Hyvinkää, Kesko's largest construction project to date, spans 85,000 square meters on a 42-hectare site. It is designed to address Onninen's substantially increased delivery needs and alleviate logistics bottlenecks experienced during previous industry growth phases. The investment enables an expanded product selection and consolidated deliveries to customers, reducing the need for satellite warehouses. Enhanced systems and automation are expected to improve picking accuracy and speed.
In its grocery trade segment, Kesko utilizes an efficient central warehouse in Vantaa and 10 regional terminals. These facilities, totaling 160,000 square meters, are crucial for supplying approximately 1,100 K Group stores and Kespro's foodservice customers. The efficiency of this logistics model is supported by high volumes, full delivery loads, and advanced replenishment systems.
Kesko is committed to continuously optimizing its logistics and reducing its environmental impact. To this end, the company plans to increase its fleet of electric transport vehicles to 200 by 2030. This initiative aligns the company's operations with sustainable development principles and addresses the growing demand for green transportation solutions.
