Helsinki – Kesko Oyj has confirmed the composition of its Shareholders' Nomination Committee. The committee consists of three members, with two representing the company's largest shareholders and one being the Chair of Kesko's Board of Directors.
The right to nominate shareholder representatives typically belongs to the two shareholders with the largest percentage of votes in Kesko as of September 1. This year, those shareholders were K-Retailers' Association and Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company. Pauli Jaakola, a retailer, represents the K-Retailers' Association, while Annika Ekman, EVP of Investments, represents Ilmarinen.
Esa Kiiskinen, the Chair of Kesko's Board of Directors, serves as the third member. The committee's primary role is to prepare proposals concerning the number of board members, their election, and remuneration for the Annual General Meeting. The committee held its organizational meeting on September 21, 2026, where Pauli Jaakola was unanimously elected as the committee's chair.
Established by the Annual General Meeting, the Shareholders' Nomination Committee plays a crucial role in guiding the company's corporate governance by preparing recommendations for board composition and compensation.
