Helsinki, Finland – Kesko Oyj today released its interim financial report for the first half of 2026, showing a significant increase in comparable operating profit and net sales. The company's performance was driven by growth across its divisions.

Kesko Oyj reported a stronger financial performance for the first half of 2026, with group net sales increasing by 6.5% to €6.4 billion compared to the same period in 2025. Comparable operating profit rose to €296.1 million, an increase of €23.8 million. The company's results for the second quarter (April-June) also showed positive momentum, with net sales up 6.0% to €3.38 billion and comparable operating profit reaching €194.0 million, up €17.3 million.
The positive trend was particularly evident in the building and technical trade division, which saw strong sales and profit performance, according to CEO Jorma Rauhala. The company noted that cash flow from operating activities strengthened significantly, totaling €439.9 million for the first half of the year.
Looking ahead, Kesko anticipates an improving business environment across all its divisions and operating countries in 2026. The company has raised its profit guidance, now estimating the 2026 comparable operating profit to be in the range of €670–€730 million. This revised forecast reflects expectations of continued growth, particularly in grocery and building and technical trade.
Despite the positive outlook, Kesko acknowledged that uncertainties remain due to developments in consumer confidence, investment appetites, and geopolitical tensions. The company's comparable return on equity remained steady at 16.9% for the rolling twelve months.
