Kesko's July Sales Increased by 7.4%

HELSINKI – Retail group Kesko Oyj announced its sales for July increased by 7.4% compared to the previous year, amounting to €975.7 million. On a comparable basis, sales grew by 4.1%. The increase was primarily driven by sales growth in the grocery trade and building and technical trade divisions.

The grocery trade division reported sales of €539.4 million in July, up 5.1%. Kespro's wholesale and B2B sales also saw a 6.2% increase. Sales in the building and technical trade division rose by 14.9% to €348.1 million, with a comparable growth of 5.1%. This segment's performance was partly influenced by the consolidation of Danish company Davidsen since February.

In contrast, the car trade division experienced a sales decrease of 4.5% in July, totaling €90.1 million. Sales in sports trade also declined. The company attributed the sales performance to factors including variations in the number of delivery days and the impact of acquisitions and divestments.

Kesko has continued to execute its strategy throughout the summer, aiming to increase market share and improve profitability across various segments. The company is expected to focus on developing its digital services and strengthening its e-commerce operations both domestically and internationally in the future.
