Helsinki – Finnish retailer Kesko Oyj announced its sales for March increased by 12.2% year-on-year, totaling €1,178.0 million. Comparable sales growth stood at 9.7%, indicating broad-based improvement across the group's segments.
The grocery trade division saw sales rise by 11.3% to €585.4 million. This uplift was partly attributed to the timing of Easter-related wholesale activities, which largely occurred in March this year. Sales to K Group grocery stores specifically increased by 14.1%.
Sales in the building and technical trade division grew by 15.3% to €470.0 million. Excluding acquisitions and divestments, comparable sales in this segment increased by 8.9%. This growth was driven by both building and home improvement trade, as well as technical trade, with positive contributions from newly acquired Danish companies included in the figures.
The car trade division reported a 5.7% increase in sales, reaching €125.2 million. While new car sales declined, this was offset by growth in used car sales and services. Overall, Kesko's total sales for the first quarter of 2026 increased by 7.2% to €3,100.3 million.
