Kesko's May sales increased by 1.5 percent

Kesko Oyj's consolidated sales reached €1,095.6 million in May 2023, marking a 1.5% increase compared to the previous year. On a comparable basis, sales grew by 0.9%.

The grocery trade division saw a sales increase of 7.2%, totaling €553.4 million. Sales to K Group grocery stores rose by 6.6%, and Kespro's wholesale sales grew by 13.9%. Sales of home and speciality goods in K-Citymarket also strengthened.

In contrast, the building and technical trade division experienced a sales decrease of 8.5%, amounting to €426.1 million. Comparable wholesale sales declined by 2.8% in local currencies, despite acquisitions bolstering reported sales. Building and home improvement trade sales decreased in all operating countries.

The car trade division continued its strong growth trajectory, with sales up 18.6% to €118.1 million. Comparable car trade sales increased by 32.6%. Sports trade, which became part of the division in April 2023, saw a sales decline of 29.8%.

For the January-May period, Kesko Group's total sales amounted to €4,944.1 million, a 2.2% increase. This figure incorporates acquisitions and divestments completed in 2022 and 2023.
