Kesko's Swedish and Nordic Acquisitions Approved by EU

The European Commission has unconditionally approved Kesko's plan to acquire the building materials wholesale operations of Swedish Dahl Group in Sweden, and the corresponding operations of Brødrene Dahl in Norway and Denmark. This transaction will significantly expand Kesko's technical wholesale trade business into the Nordic markets.

The approval represents a significant step in executing Kesko's strategy to strengthen its position in the technical trade sector. The acquired companies are expected to complement Kesko's current offerings and open up new growth opportunities.

The company has also reported its sales figures for July and August. Kesko's technical wholesale trade has been a driver of the company's profit improvement, as indicated by the half-year financial report for 2026. During the first half of the year ending in June, the company's profit saw a significant increase, primarily driven by its technical trade segment.

Furthermore, Kesko has promoted sustainability by collecting over 1,100 tonnes of plastic packaging waste from its stores for recycling. This initiative supports the achievement of EU recycling targets and reduces Finland's financial contributions to the EU.
