KeyCorp reports Q2 2026 net income up 26% year-over-year

CLEVELAND, Ohio – KeyCorp announced its second quarter 2026 results, with net income from continuing operations attributable to Key common shareholders reaching $472 million, or $0.44 per diluted common share. This represents a 26% increase from the $387 million, or $0.35 per share, reported in the second quarter of 2025. Net income for the first quarter of 2026 was $486 million, or $0.44 per diluted share.

Total revenue for the quarter was $1.96 billion, up 7% year-over-year. Net interest income also saw a year-over-year increase of 9% to $1.26 billion, while the net interest margin improved by 2 basis points sequentially to 2.89%.

The bank's loan portfolio grew by $1.2 billion from the previous quarter. Commercial and industrial loans specifically increased by $2.1 billion, or 3%.

Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman stated that the results reflect the strength of the franchise and disciplined execution. He highlighted strong performance in priority growth businesses including investment banking, commercial payments, and wealth management.
