KfW Entrepreneurs' Award applications close July 1

KfW, Germany's state-owned development bank, has announced that the application deadline for its 2026 Entrepreneurs' Award is July 1. The award recognizes young companies and startups across Germany that demonstrate innovation or novel business management approaches. To be eligible, companies must be based in Germany and have been founded in 2021 or later, or have been taken over as part of a succession plan.

The award aims to foster entrepreneurial spirit and strengthen Germany's startup ecosystem. It provides a platform for emerging businesses to gain visibility, expand their networks, and connect with key decision-makers in the German economy.

This year's award includes a total prize fund of 35,000 euros. Individual awards of 1,000 euros are given to one company from each German federal state. These state winners then compete for a national prize of 9,000 euros. Additionally, a special prize of 5,000 euros will be presented for successful company succession, and a people's choice award of 5,000 euros will be determined by an online vote.

A jury comprising experts from KfW, promotional banks, and representatives from business and politics will evaluate submissions based on criteria including innovation, creativity, social responsibility, economic success, and environmental sustainability. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Berlin on November 4, 2026.
