KfW maintains shareholding status in Deutsche Post
State-owned development bank KfW remains a shareholder in Deutsche Post AG as part of the ongoing monitoring of its equity portfolio.

The German development bank KfW has reaffirmed its position within the shareholder structure of Deutsche Post AG. As of December 2025, the logistics company’s capital consists of 1.15 billion registered shares, with KfW continuing to hold a stake following the multi-decade privatization effort.
The privatization of Deutsche Post, which began in the late 1990s, was a significant milestone in Germany’s transition toward private-sector delivery services. KfW has acted as the vehicle for the federal government’s divestment strategy, gradually offloading shares to increase market liquidity and private ownership.
KfW provides ongoing documentation of these equity transactions to maintain market transparency. For institutional investors, the bank’s remaining stake represents a legacy of the state’s involvement in the postal sector, with investor relations channels remaining open to address inquiries regarding future divestment plans.
