KfW, the German development bank, has established a significant presence across various social media platforms, including X, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, and Xing.
The institution has released comprehensive guidelines and rules governing discussions on all its social media channels, aiming to foster a constructive and respectful environment. The guidelines emphasize the importance of objective and constructive communication, while strictly prohibiting provocations, insults, threats, and any form of defamation.
KfW explicitly forbids calls for violence, endorsement of criminal offenses, and discrimination or slander based on religion, ethnic origin, nationality, health status, sexual orientation, or gender. Hate propaganda, conspiracy theories, and copyright infringements are also prohibited.
The bank states that it moderates comments and reserves the right to hide, delete, or report content violating these rules to platform operators. Repeated or serious violations may lead to user exclusion from the platforms. KfW encourages open discussion but requires all participants to adhere to the established rules.
