Kia EV Models Achieve Five-Star Euro NCAP Safety Ratings

Kia Deutschland GmbH has announced that its electric vehicle models EV3, EV4, and EV5 have achieved the maximum five-star safety rating in Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) tests. These ratings underscore the vehicles' robust safety features and protective capabilities.

Euro NCAP is an independent European safety organization that evaluates new vehicles through a series of crash tests and safety assessments. The tests cover adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, vulnerable road user protection, and safety assist technologies.

The EV5 model scored 83% for adult occupant protection, 85% for child occupant protection, 74% for vulnerable road user protection, and 80% for safety assist systems. The EV4 achieved 84% for adult occupant protection, 85% for child occupant protection, 77% for vulnerable road user protection, and 78% for safety assist. The EV3 also received a score of 83% for adult occupant protection.

Kia highlighted that these high safety ratings are a result of both engineered vehicle structures and the integration of advanced safety technologies, such as automatic emergency braking and lane keeping assist. The company has previously achieved five-star ratings for its other electric models, including the EV6 and EV9.

The company stated that these safety standards aim to provide drivers and passengers with enhanced confidence and protection during everyday driving and on longer journeys.
