The Kia EV3 has officially been named the 2025 World Car of the Year at the prestigious World Car of the Year awards ceremony held during the New York International Auto Show. This victory solidifies Kia's standing in the competitive electric vehicle (EV) market.
Judged by a panel of 96 automotive journalists from 30 countries, the World Car Awards represent a global perspective on automotive excellence. The EV3's win follows its earlier selection as 'Best Small Electric SUV' at the 2025 What Car? awards, further cementing its reputation.
Kia CEO Ho Sung Song stated that the award highlights Kia's leadership in providing design-led, technologically advanced, and sustainable mobility solutions. The EV3 is noted for its range of up to 600 kilometers (375 miles) and its ability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes.
The compact electric SUV draws design inspiration from Kia's flagship EV9, featuring a futuristic exterior and a practical, spacious interior. It also incorporates Kia's AI Assistant and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), with support for Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates to ensure the vehicle remains current.
